include、consist of 和 contain這三個詞語都有“包含”的意思。具體的含義和使用語境是不同的。

1、Include

（1）Include 的意思是“包括在內(nèi)，包含 ，其中有”， include 在英語中使用的頻率非常高，通常指整體里的一部分。

例句：The price of the meal includes a drink.

套餐的價格包括一杯飲料。

（2）Include 還有一種含義是“把什么變成整體的一部分”

例句：We included Sam in the project.

我們讓 Sam 參加這個項目了。

這里我們不能用 contain 或 consist of 來替代 include， 語法上是不通的。

2、Contain

（1）Contain有好幾種含義，常用的意思是“里面有，包含，容納”。

例句：The tin contains an assortment of chocolates.

盒子里有各種各樣的巧克力。

（2）Contain 也可以用來突出主要部分，重要部分。

例句： The cake contains nuts.

這個蛋糕里有堅果。

（3）Contain 還可以表示“控制事態(tài)發(fā)展或擴張”。

例句：The fire brigade announced that the forest fire had been contained.

消防隊宣布森林大火已被控制。

3、Consist of

Consist of 意思是“由......組成，有......在內(nèi)，包括”，一般需要列出所有組成部分。

例句：The team consists of three British and two Australian players.

這個小組隊由三個英國隊員和兩個澳大利亞隊員組成。
