英語中數(shù)字的讀法規(guī)則如下：
1到20之間，直接讀單個的數(shù)字；讀大于20的數(shù)字，先讀十位數(shù)再讀個位數(shù)：7-seven，32-thirty-two，89-eighty-nine；當表達大于100的數(shù)字時，以“百”為單位來讀，順序為十億、百萬、千、百。

一、多位數(shù)字與電話號碼的讀法 （一）多位數(shù)字的讀法 英語數(shù)字的讀法和中文數(shù)字的讀法不同。漢語是每一位數(shù)字后都有一個不同的計數(shù)單位。例如：12345讀成一萬二千三百四十五。而英語卻是三位一節(jié)，把三位看成一個整體，后面再加一個單位。同樣的12345這個數(shù)，英文的讀法是先把整個數(shù)從個位數(shù)數(shù)起，一分為二，三位一節(jié)———12， 345。345讀成three hundred _and forty-five。12讀成twelve。而后的標點逗號“，”讀成thousand。最后一合并，讀成twelve thousand，three hundred _and forty-five。對于很大的數(shù)字也是如此，三位一節(jié)，從右往左，第一個逗號讀成thousand，第二個逗號讀成million，第三個讀成billion（美國讀法），依此類推。例如：31，234，567，890讀成：thirty-one billion，two hundred _and thirty-four million，five hundred _and sixty-seven thousand，eight hundred _and ninety。 為了便于學生理解，先分別就五位數(shù)起的多位數(shù)字進行單獨講解，后再綜合。 1．五位數(shù)與六位數(shù)的讀法 漢語的“萬”和“十萬”的概念，在英語中沒有相應的基數(shù)詞。對此，需迅速折算一下，“萬”即“十個千”（ten thousand）；“十萬”即“百個千”（a／one hundred thousand）。如：10，001：ten thous_and _and one；10，041：ten thous_and _and forty-one；10，941：ten thousand，nine hundred _and forty-one； 100，941：a／one hundred thousand，nine hundred _and forty-one 2．七位數(shù)、八位數(shù)與九位數(shù)的讀法 漢語的“百萬”的概念，在英語中有相應的基數(shù)詞million。漢語的“千萬”和“萬萬／億”的概念，在英語中沒有相應的基數(shù)詞。對此，也需迅速折算一下，“千萬”即“十個百萬”（ten million）；“萬萬／億”即“百個百萬”（a／one hundred million）。如：2，134，658：two million，one hundred _and thirty-four thousand，six hundred _and fifty-eight 3．十位數(shù)及十位以上數(shù)目 漢語的“十億”的概念，在美國英語中有相應的基數(shù)詞billion，在英國英語中則要說“千個百萬”（a／one thous_and million）?！鞍賰|”、“千億”的表示方法，依次類推?！叭f億”，即“百萬個百萬”（a／one million million）或“兆”，美國英語為a／one trillion，英國英語為a／one billion。如：十億 1，000，000，000：a／one billion（美）；a／one thous_and million（英）。百億 10，000，000，000：ten billion（美）；ten thous_and million（英）。千億100， 000，000，000：a／one hundred billion（美）；a／one hundred thous_and million（英）。萬億1，000，000，000，000：a／one trillion（美）；a／one billion（英） 從上面的例子中不難看出，英語的讀數(shù)方式是有規(guī)律的。關鍵在于只要掌握三位數(shù)以內(nèi)的數(shù)字讀法即可。 讀熟了，聽的問題自然就能迎刃而解。許多學生在考試中聽數(shù)字的時候總想把聽到的數(shù)字翻譯成中文，以為這樣容易記。但由于漢英語言的差異，往往適得其反。在聽多位數(shù)字的時候，一定要牢記讀的原則：讀來讀去都是三位數(shù)字。聽到million，thousand等就以“，”代替。例如：You will hear：three million，four hundred _and fifty-five thous_and _and twenty-one．(3,455,021) 答案是：3，455，021。 （二）電話號碼的讀法 讀電話號碼通常以兩個數(shù)字為一組，中間有個小停頓，但也有以三個數(shù)字為一組的，特別是讀八位數(shù)電話號碼時。為了便于學生理解，以圖表來表示。 寫法 讀法 65311900 six five three，one one nine o o；six five three，double one nine double o 7749 double seven，four nine 4779 four seven，seven nine 599 five，double nine 559 five，five nine ；double five nine 02-5177383 o two ／five，one seven ／seven three ／eight three 037-181-789 o three seven ／one eightone ／seven eight nine 二、加強多位數(shù)字與電話號碼的聽說讀寫訓練 總的來說，英語多位數(shù)字與電話號碼的聽記是學生學習的一大難點，除了掌握一定的規(guī)律和技巧外，平時還必須進行大量的聽說讀寫訓練，熟能生巧，才能達到比較迅速而準確的目的。
