好貓寶寶

She's trying to find her way back to the beautiful garden that she saw when she first arrived in Wonderland. Here she is, outside a little house. The fish was wearing a footman's uniform. Another footman opened the door. Alice was near enough to hear what the fish said. 在她搞清楚這件事之前，一條魚從樹林里跑過來，來到這間屋子前面敲起了門。那條魚穿著一身男仆服裝。這時候，另一個男仆把門打開了，Alice湊上前去聽那條魚在說什么。 男仆 From the Queen. An invitation for the Duchess to play croquet. 女王陛下邀請公爵夫人一起玩槌球。 Alice The Duchess!! 公爵夫人!! 講述者 Alice was so curious she went to knock on the door. But there was no use knocking, because it was so noisy inside the house that no-one could possibly hear her little knock. Alice was even more curious now so she opened the door… Alice懷著好奇的心情前去敲門，但是里面非常吵鬧，根本沒人聽到她的敲門聲。這下Alice更好奇了，于是她直接把門推開了… Alice Hello? 有人嗎? 講述者 And she found herself in a noisy, smoky kitchen. A cook was cooking a pan of soup over the fire and the Duchess was holding a crying baby. There was also a big cat who was sitting above the fire and smiling from ear to ear. Everyone was sneezing except the cook and the cat. Alice發(fā)現(xiàn)自己身處一間煙霧繚繞的廚房里，吵鬧聲很大。一個廚師在火上煮湯，公爵夫人抱著一個正在啼哭的小孩子。火堆旁邊坐著一只大貓，這只貓滿臉笑容，一副很開心的樣子。除了那位廚師和那只貓，所有人都在打噴嚏。 Alice There's too much pepper in that soup!Please would you tell me why your cat grins like that? 湯里的胡椒粉放得太多了!請告訴我為什么那只貓一直咧著嘴笑? 公爵夫人 It's a Cheshire-Cat, and that's why. 不為什么，這是一只柴郡貓。 Alice I didn't know Cheshire-Cats grinned. In fact, I didn't know cats could grin. 我不知道柴郡貓是這樣的，其實我都不知道貓也可以笑。 公爵夫人 You don't know much, and that's afact. 你不知道很正常，事實就是這樣。 講述者 Just then, the cook took the pan of soup off the fire, and started throwing pots and pans and plates and dishes all around the kitchen. Some of them hit the Duchess, but she didn't seem to notice. Some of them hit the baby, who was crying anyway. 就在這時，廚師把湯從火上取了下來，開始在廚房里亂扔鍋碗瓢盆，有的砸到了公爵夫人，但她好像并沒有在意，還有幾個砸到了那個正在哭的小孩子。 Alice Oh please! The baby! Be careful! 啊!拜托!請小心孩子! 公爵夫人 Here! You hold it if you like! 你來!要不你抱著! 講述者 And the Duchess threw thebaby at Alice who just managed to catch it. 公爵夫人把孩子扔向Alice，Alice順利接到孩子。 Alice Ohhh!! 喔!!! 公爵夫人 I must go and get ready to play croquet with the Queen. 我必須要走了，我得去和女王一起玩槌球。 講述者 And, with that, The Duchess left. Alice held the baby and wondered what to do with it. 說到這，公爵夫人就離開了。Alice抱著孩子不知道如何是好。 Alice What am I going to do with you?You're a strange shape… Oh! You're a not a baby. You're a… you're a pig! 我抱著這孩子干什么?這孩子長得真奇怪啊!噢!這不是個嬰兒!這是一只小豬! 講述者 It was easy to decide what to do with a pig. Alice took it outside and let it go into the woods. The Cheshire-Cat sat in a tree and watched her. 這下Alice知道該怎么辦了，她直接把小豬帶到了外面，放回了樹林里。柴郡貓坐在樹上看著她。 Alice Cheshire-Cat, could you tell me which way I should go? 柴郡貓，你能告訴我，我該去哪里嗎? 柴郡貓 A Hatter lives over here, and a MarchHare lives over there. Alice set off inthe direction of the March Hare's house and soon she came to a house. Outside the house she saw a tea-party quite unlike any tea-party she had ever seen before. 公，侯，伯，子，男。在英國，公爵是僅次于國王或親王的最高級貴族。侯爵是到了15世紀，這級爵號穩(wěn)定地保持了它在貴族爵位中的第二級地位以后，才被貴族們所看重。與其他4個等級的貴族相比，侯爵的數(shù)目一向最少。在英國5級貴族中，伯爵出現(xiàn)最早。個別學者認為伯爵爵位來自歐洲大陸，至遲在公元900年的法國，伯爵已成為公爵的封臣。但更多的學者認為英國伯爵與法國伯爵并無繼承或連帶關系；而且英國伯爵稱號是5種貴族稱號中惟一的英文詞，是由古英語eorl轉化而來.上院貴族中數(shù)子爵資格最淺。子爵稱號源于法國，原為郡守，地位在伯爵之下，但有時可能是實力強大的諸侯。在英國，1440年比奧芒特的約翰被封為子爵，位居所有男爵之上。盎格魯一撒克遜時代已有男爵一詞（Baron），但無男爵爵位，而且詞義不夠確定。似有“自由者”或“國王的臣仆”之意，但無尊貴的含義。英國男爵出現(xiàn)于11世紀。到12世紀初國王大部分高級世俗貴族都被封為男爵。其中少數(shù)與王室關系密切、封地較多者又被稱做“大男爵”，其地位在伯爵和男爵之間。在學界，有一種很流行的說法：英國5級貴族是上院的當然成員。史實卻非如此簡單。在13-15世紀，盡管所有大貴族都擁有出席上院的資格，但每屆議會召開前還必須得到蓋有國里的國王詔令，否則不可前往開會。自14世紀起，伯爵、子爵、男爵以及公爵之子又稱為“勛爵”（lord），后來勛爵也可泛指公爵以下的侯爵、伯爵、子爵、男爵。公爵的來源：在古羅馬時代，由日耳曼或凱爾特蠻族出身而作為雇傭軍為羅馬軍隊所用的將帥，由于沒有正式的羅馬軍銜而統(tǒng)稱為Dux，也因此Dux被認為等同于日爾曼人舊有的軍事領袖稱號，Herzog。羅馬帝國滅亡之后，各部族的軍事領袖成為歐洲各獨立小國的國君，其中許多就以Dux或Herzog（或相似的當?shù)孛Q）為稱號。直到近代，意大利和德國統(tǒng)一之前的很多小國都以此為稱號，為與擁有相似稱號而不是國君的貴族有所區(qū)別，中文一般稱作“大公”，歐洲現(xiàn)存的獨立大公國是盧森堡和安道爾公國。歷史上的其它大公國經(jīng)過合并和并吞，逐漸演變成了由國王授予的爵位。在歐洲各國，公爵都是最高爵位之一，在一些國家公爵以上還有親王，另一些國家的公爵級別比親王要高。
