1、audience當視其為一個群體而強調整體時,謂語動詞要用單數(shù); 但如果強調每個人相對的獨立性時,謂語動詞就要用復數(shù)形式。

2、audience有時引申可指代場所,表示“觀眾席”; 也可作“與統(tǒng)治者〔要人〕的正式會見”“謁見”解,此時是可數(shù)名詞; 還可作“愛好者,支持者”“讀者,讀者大眾”解。

3、audience用于貶義時,用it或its代指; 沒有貶義時,則往往用they, them或their代指。
